Lil Wayne OUT of prison

Rapper Lil Wayne (born Dwayne Carter Jr.) was released from New York's Riker's Island prison on Thursday after serving eight months of an original 1 year sentence. There was some confusion at first as to whether the rapper's release was going to be delayed by a day, however he slid out unnoticed in the early hours of Nov 4th.

The rapper was first incarcerated in March this year, however he got time off for good behavior.
According to prison officials, Lil Wayne spent the last month of his shortened term in solitary confinement for breaking the rules inside the prison and having a charger and headphones for a digital music player found in his cell. These items are considered against the rules.

According to his managers, he planned to head back and spend time with family and friends at home in Miami.

The rapper pleaded guilty in October 2009 to attempted weapon possession, admitting he'd had a loaded, semi-automatic .40-caliber gun on his tour bus after a Manhattan concert in 2007.

During his time behind bars, Lil Wayne set up a website for his fans Weezythanxyou.com, to give them a glimpse of his life in jail and his latest album, "I Am Not a Human Being" was released in September when the rapper was in solitary confinement and rose to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in October.

Lil Wayne had the best-selling album of 2008 and won a best rap album Grammy with "Tha Carter III."
